What To Do If You
Are In AN Accident

In the course of your driving career, statistically you will be involved in a motor vehicle accident. It is important that you are prepared if something like this were to happen while driving. We offer tips on things you can do to prepare yourself with the right tools and guides to follow if you’ve been involved in a car accident.

Pedestrian Accidents

When a pedestrian is struck by a motor vehicle, though most of the rules of a car accident victim apply to such an accident, there are some differences.

The first difference is that the medical benefits, No-Fault, are paid by the vehicle which struck the pedestrian. If the vehicle that struck the pedestrian has no insurance or runs away, if the pedestrian or any of the family members with which he/she resides has an automobile insurance policy, that insurance policy will pay the no-fault benefits. If the pedestrian, does not have automobile insurance one can sue MVIAC to pay for their injuries. One whose own policy UM or MVIAC pays for his no-fault benefits or for his injuries must make a police report within 24 hours, otherwise in most instances the insurance company or MVIAC will disclaim. Contacting an attorney well versed in this type of law will insure that you receive both medical and liability coverage.
